At the bend in the road, at a place called Cambou, I enter the alley lined with pines and cypresses and at the end of the road, a beautiful house with wine-coloured shutters, surrounded by greenery, cultivated fields, hills and small streams. The place is absolutely magnificent and inspires relaxation, idleness, happiness and conviviality. I am at the Brin de Cocagne, a guest house to which I already came once a little over a year ago. I am delighted at the idea of staying there for three nights this time. Elisabeth welcomes me with a big smile and gives me a tour of the owner’s house, then I discover my beautifully decorated, spacious room with its impeccable bathroom. The window overlooks the old stables and the pool in the distance. I know that I will sleep well, in the peace and quiet, and that I will savour with delight each morning when I open my shutters, the first moments of a beautiful day that is beginning. I will add to this the varied breakfasts prepared by my hostess, with fresh and local products, that I can enjoy depending on the weather, inside, or on the terrace, or even in the hayloft, the former hayloft, nicely fitted out with tables in acidulous colours.
